Craving some spine-tingling stories? We’ve got your fix: catch The Ballad of Black Tom author Victor LaValle and Paper Tigers author Damien Angelica Walters at May’s installment of Fantastic Fiction, the monthly reading series hosted by editor Ellen Datlow and author Matthew Kressel at KGB in New York City.

Victor LaValle is the author of three novels, including The EcstaticThe Devil in Silver, and Big Machine, which won the Shirley Jackson Award and an American Book Award, among other awards. His latest work, The Ballad of Black Tom, is a Lovecraftian novella that Buzzfeed calls “a genre-bending must-read.” Read an excerpt here.

Damien Angelica Walters is the author of Paper Tigers and Sing Me Your Scars. Her short fiction has been nominated twice for a Bram Stoker Award, reprinted in The Year’s Best Dark Fantasy & Horror and The Year’s Best Weird Fiction, and published in numerous anthologies and magazines.
