Hobbes and Me

Rafael Casal‘s “Hobbes & Me” is the perfect Calvin & Hobbes adaptation. First of all, it recreates the strips exactly, with pauses between panels, without changing a syllable of Bill Watterson’s masterwork. The shorts are in black and white, recreating the look of a daily strip. Casal is an excellent Calvin, with all of his grandiosity and wild hair, and as if all that wasn’t enough, Hamilton‘s Daveed Diggs wears an absurd fuzzy tiger coat to play Hobbes. This is so much better than any live action adaptation or feature-length cartoon could have been. Check out the episodes below!

You can see more of Casal’s work over here…and you might be able to see Daveed Diggs in Hamilton if you make a large enough sacrifice to an Elder God, but even they’re having trouble getting tickets.
