Emma Newman has proven herself adept at multiple genres (urban fantasy, thriller, science fiction) in multiple formats (novel, short story, LARP) and is also an accomplished voiceover artist, as well. Her Split Worlds series won her a loyal fanbase, and her recent Planetfall novel confirmed her status as a true rising star. Oh, and she’s a multiple Hugo nominee for her Tea & Jeopardy podcast, which she co-hosts with her husband, Peter.

We are delighted, therefore, to welcome Emma to the Tor.com family with her new historical urban fantasy series beginning with Brother’s Ruin—a fun fantasy romp with magic, death and more than a touch of Victorian etiquette.

Emma said:

Having admired the novellas produced by Tor.com, I am thrilled that my work will be counted amongst them, and am very excited to invite readers into a new historical urban fantasy world.

Her editor, Lee Harris, is looking forward to working on the series:

Having worked with Emma on the first three books in the Split Worlds series, I know what a great author she is. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with in Brother’s Ruin.

Brother’s Ruin and its sequel will be published in 2017. Both books were bought by senior editor Lee Harris from Jennifer Udden of the Barry Goldblatt Literary Agency.
