Loving Vincent is an upcoming feature length animation about Vincent van Gogh, but rather than taking the easy way out by hiring a bunch of actors to play the parts in boring old live action, Breakthru Films instead created a film by animating thousands of handpainted frames based on Van Gogh’s own paintings. They’ve also used the 800 letters Van Gogh left behind to piece together the multifaceted narrative of his life. Check out the full trailer below.
