We don’t often like to recall Halle Berry’s disastrous Catwoman, but in this case we’ll make an exception. Cory Doctorow found a series of mind-boggling movie posters that remember classic movies… a little bit differently than we do. Take this poster, or the one for Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, which adds in a bunch of creatures who look like they stumbled out of the Black Lagoon and into an Ewok encampment.
Turns out that this work, by artists in Ghana, is from “the Golden Age of Movie Posters” in the 1980s and ’90s—often they had never seen the movies, or were punching it up to get potential audiences’ attention. Well, it worked!
