Watch the Delightfully Retro Book Trailer for Adam Christopher’s Made to Kill!

Published on October 21, 2015

Adam Christopher’s Made to Kill began as a joke during a Pop Quiz interview on Tor.com—the author joked about discovering Raymond Chandler’s secret stash of robot detective manuscripts. Not long after, Christopher penned the novelette “Brisk Money” for Tor.com, about private detective (and the last robot on Earth) Raymond Electromatic. In Made to Kill (available November 3rd from Tor Books), Ray stumbles upon a sinister plot that lurks behind Hollywood’s silver screen. And we’ve got the first look at the book trailer!

Made to Kill blends the sci-fi details of Ray’s existence—created at the end of the age of robots; working with his super-computer gal Friday, Ada; his memory erased every 24 hours—with classic noir tropes of damsels in distress, double-crossers, and the dark underbelly of Hollywood. This peppy trailer hits all those points, and it’s got a great soundtrack, too:

Made to Kill has been selected as an Indie Next Pick for December. Christopher will be touring in the United States, at the World Fantasy Convention and in various cities. To kick things off, on November 3rd he’ll be joined by Chuck Wendig for the official book launch in New York City! Details below:
