Tor.com has two exciting pieces of news for you today. First, I’m thrilled to be able to announce that Tor.com has commissioned Andy Remic to write a trilogy of dark fantasy novellas set in the trenches of World War I. Book 1—A Song for No Man’s Land—comes out next February, to be followed shortly after by Return of Souls and The Iron Beast.

Andy Remic started his author career writing high octane science fiction novels, but I first met him while working with him on his debut fantasy trilogy, The Clockwork Vampire Chronicles. His writing is relentless, passionate, visceral. It’s the literary equivalent of an extreme sport, and should come with a government health warning. Described by many as the natural successor to David Gemmell, Remic enjoys pummeling his readers with scene after scene of action and mayhem. He also enjoys pummeling his characters. You’ll never be bored with a Remic novel.

The man… no, the self-confessed legend says:

“I am genuinely thrilled to be part of Tor.com’s new novella line with my dark fantasy title, A Song For No Man’s Land, and positively euphoric to be working with Lee Harris once more. I am sure, like Winnie the Pooh, we will have many exciting adventures! Hopefully with lots of honey.”

The books were brokered through Remic’s agent, John Jarrold.

Tor.com is also delighted to confirm the publication of Tim Lebbon’s Assassins series—Dead Man’s Hands, Pieces of Hate and A Whisper of Southern Lights bought from Howard Morhaim at the Howard Morhaim Literary Agency. The series follows an immortal assassin as he tracks a demon through the ages. The series was originally published by Necessary Evil Press in 2005 and 2006. This will be the first time they have been reprinted, and the first time they have been made available in ebook and audio editions.
