Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson The Mountain Fran Wilde Updraft

New Tor Books author Fran Wilde recently had the pleasure of meeting Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane on Game of Thrones and who recently broke a human strength record that had gone unbroken for over 1000 years. She gave him a look at an advanced copy of her debut novel Updraft and then…

Well, heh… let this be a lesson to us all to never leave things on top of a mountain.

Wilde’s editor Miriam Weinberg explains the antics:

One of my authors, upcoming September debut novelist Fran Wilde recently met an actor from HBO’s Game of Thrones series, Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays The Mountain. He happened to be in town, and was visiting Philly Weekly while in town for the Philadelphia Renaissance Festival, and Fran and he hung out behind the scene.

Happy reading, Mr. Mountain! The rest of us get to check out Updraft when it comes out from Tor Books on September 1st, although you can get started with a free excerpt right here.
