Syfy’s The Magicians Trailer Shows Us Some Real Magic

Syfy has released the first trailer for its adaptation of Lev Grossman’s The Magicians! Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) discovers that magic isn’t just fantasy books and card tricks when he gets accepted into Brakebills Academy. It’s a short trailer, but it’s crammed with plenty: Quentin’s fellow schoolmates Julia (Stella Maeve), Eliot (Hale Appleman), and Penny (Arjun Gupta); and—in the words of Brakebill’s administrators—”some goddamn magic!” We’re talking levitating in libraries, giving life to inanimate objects, and making pretty orbs dance around.
