Fans of Ann Leckie who are sad to see her Imperial Radch trilogy ending this year will be delighted to learn that Orbit Books has purchased two more novels from Leckie!

The first, tentatively scheduled for release in fall 2017, will take place in the same universe as Ancillary Justice (which won the Hugo, Nebula, and Arthur C. Clarke Awards) and its follow-ups Ancillary Sword and Ancillary Mercy.

The second will be an unrelated science fiction novel. Both will be published simultaneously in the United States and the UK.

Orbit publisher Tim Holman said in a press release:

Ann Leckie is a major new voice in science fiction, and we’re thrilled that Orbit will continue as her worldwide English-language publisher with these new novels. The unprecedented success of her debut novel, Ancillary Justice, marked the beginning of what promises to be a remarkable writing career, and we are hugely looking forward to continuing our partnership over the coming years.

I’m so happy to be able to continue working with Orbit! It’s been an amazing couple of years together, and I’m looking forward to spending more time in my science fictional universe, and more time with my readers.

Ancillary Mercy will be published this October.
