About a month ago, Imgur user SteampunkBrit got their hands on a preview copy of Bloomsbury’s fully-illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. They’ve shared several pages of Jim Kay’s fantastic illustrations; we’ve already seen a few previews, but this shows how the renderings of beloved wizarding world characters and locations actually interact with the text.
Depending on the page and the part of the story, Kay’s illustrations border the text in a variety of ways. You have the great, classic shot of Hagrid putting Dudley in his place:
Fan favorites like the Leaky Cauldron, which we’ve already seen in the movies and at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, yet its sign is still a welcome sight:
Hermione, puzzling out a mystery:
And Hagrid’s hut, looking so innocent despite all the action and intrigue that takes place in there:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be published in October 2015.
Hat-tip to Hypable for finding these photos!
