Author Charles Coleman Finlay is taking over as the ninth editor of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Locus Magazine reports. Since 1949, the bimonthly F&SF has published short fiction from esteemed writers including Ray Bradbury and Ursula K. Le Guin; humor cartoons and pieces; and commentary on SFF books, films, and science.

Finlay already has a history with F&SF, having guest-edited an issue in 2014; it was also the first magazine to publish his short fiction. As of the March-April 2015 issue, he will take over from Gordon Van Gelder, who will remain the publisher of F&SF after acquiring the magazine in 2001.

Finlay’s first act as the incoming editor was to announce on Twitter today that going forward, F&SF would prefer electronic submissions:
