Jurassic World Launches Viral Website With New Images and Plot Hints

Last we heard of Jurassic World, a “leaked” brochure hinted at which dinosaurs we’ll see in the new film. Now, Universal Pictures has upped its viral marketing game by launching a website for Masrani Global, the company responsible for bringing to life John Hammond’s dreams of a dinosaur theme park.

Minor spoilers for Jurassic World.

First, a quick history lesson to bring you up to speed since Jurassic Park III:

In 1997 Simon Masrani began talks to acquire International Genetic Technologies after the passing of Dr. John Hammond in order to reshape and restore the company to a level of satisfaction once sought by the former founder. By 1998 InGen was under the Masrani umbrella and the years from 2002 to 2004 would help lead the Masrani company on their biggest adventure yet: the construction of Jurassic World on Isla Nublar.

The Masrani-owned InGen is also off in Siberia drilling into woolly mammoth remains, but let’s focus on Isla Nublar and the beloved Jurassic World theme park!

Masrani’s end-of-year financial report promises that the company will not become complacent despite Jurassic World’s success and its upcoming ten-year anniversary and 10 millionth visitor. The corporation’s COO explains how they’re going to keep the park fresh for another 10 million visitors:

You can’t expect the world’s greatest theme park to merely rely on the same attractions. We need to be proactive, thinking of bigger and better things. Isla Nublar only peaks in attendance during the American holiday season. Why? Proximity. The world has seen what we have to offer, but they aren’t in awe as they once used to be. We need to change that. We have a chance to over the upcoming few years.

Looks like we’ve got the setup for Jurassic World. Bad things happen when you try too hard to awe people.

On its Media page, Masrani also features plenty of photos of CEO Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan) looking contemplative, lead scientist Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) posing with some familiar pieces of amber, and of course some dino eggs:

The movie’s official website has a countdown timer pointing toward November 26 at 9 p.m.—presumably when the first trailer will drop, though that hasn’t been confirmed. Comic Book Movie has also posted images of the LEGO version of the “D-Rex,” what outlets are assuming is the genetically-modified dino “baddie” of this movie.

Jurassic World opens its doors on June 12, 2015.
