So, good news, Al Pacino let his kids drag him to see Guardians of the Galaxy and loved it so much that he’s now interested in considering a role in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

Nancy Tartaglione of Deadline got him to consider it at the recent Venice Film Festival. The famous actor had a lot to say about Guardians as a film, and had a well-considered response to the question of whether would like to be in the next one…

I would do anything that I could understand in terms of how I fit in it. And you know, of course if I could fit in it. Anything’s possible.

We imagine that James Gunn and Kevin Feige are currently holding hands and jumping up and down together at the prospect of adding Pacino to the MCU. But who could he play? What Marvel character is edgy and feisty and animated enough to demand Pacino? Who in the comic books could lock eyes with you and somehow never let go?

If we stick with characters associated with the Guardians, a couple of folks come to mind. We have yet to see the Supreme Intelligence, the creepy tentacle-faced conglomerate of minds that leads the Kree people. He comes off as a bit of a gangster with a tenuous hold on power. Pacino could voice that.

Or maybe he could be Mephisto, the devil demi-god who plays a sly hand in pushing Thanos towards his obtainment of all 6 Infinity gems Stones.

You know, we’re falling back on Pacino’s previous roles as gangsters and devils here, but really it seems like the actor should show up as Howard the Duck in an expanded role. (Sorry, Seth Green.)
