Not one strange thing exactly, but working on The Strain I’ve discovered plenty of gruesome things: crushed skulls, burnt corpses, autopsies, strangulations, dismemberments… not to mention a lot of time looking at worms and other parasites. Between that and my frequent googling of weapons and real locations in New York City I’m pretty sure I’m on a watchlist.

If you could name a planet after anyone (other than yourself), who would you choose and why?

William Shatner. I think he’d enjoy it and saying “I’m going to ‘Planet Shatner’” sounds cool…. Planet Shatner.

Name your favorite monster from fiction, film, TV, or any other pop culture source.

Would you rather discover the fountain of youth or proof of life on Mars?

Fountain. I’m 40.

What literary or film science fiction technology do you wish existed in our world right now?

Now that I live in LA I’d kill for some teleportation.

Choose your preferred fictional vacation spot.

Next Generation Enterprise.

What was your gateway to SF/Fantasy, as a child or young adult?

Star Wars.

What would your Patronus/familiar be?

The Strain Night Eternal issue 1 Mike HuddlestonIf you had to choose one band or artist to provide the official soundtrack to your latest book, who would it be?

Fantomas. The answer is the same regardless of the project.

What’s the most embarrassing guilty pleasure you’ll admit to?

Disco. The cheesier the better.

What kind of apocalypse (zombie, robot, environmental, etc.) is most compatible with your survival skills? And what kind of apocalypse would you like to avoid at all costs?

I have no survival skills of any kind… but an apocalypse that spares me and all the pizza and cupcake shops would be perfect

If you were secretly going to write fanfic (or, even better, slashfic) about any two characters, who would they be?

Rick and Morty.

List three things you’d like our readers to know about you and your work.

I spend most of my time drawing, I mostly enjoy doing it, and the work I make tomorrow will (hopefully) be better than what I made today.

Which language, real or fictional, would you like the ability to speak fluently? Who would you talk to?

French. French people.
