Doctor Who Season 8 Premieres on August 23rd

The BBC have just released a teaser announcing that the new season of Doctor Who will begin on August 23rd with a “feature-length” episode. Check out the teaser below.

In case you can’t parse Capaldi’s accent through the sound effects and Scottish menace, he’s saying, “Clara, be my pal. Tell me. Am I a good man?”

Bleeding Cool elaborates that the first episode back will be 70 minutes or longer and is titled “Deep Breath.” The episode, penned by showrunner Steven Moffat, features the return of Strax, Madame Vastra, and Jenny, as well as a very special cameo.

(Is that a slightly new TARDIS interior behind him? Maybe the same one but a bit differently lit?)

We imagine news and trailers will start coming quickly now that the premiere is only two months away. There’s an entire world tour to show things on, after all.
