All men must die, but at least we have kittens to keep us company until then. And while we’re still licking our wounds from Sunday’s Game of Thrones season finale, we’ve discovered these adorable Black-Footed Cats
OH GOSH THEY’RE ROARING ALREADY with names that would make Khaleesi proud.
Not only are the Philadelphia Zoo’s newest additions heartbreakingly precious, but they’ve got some geeky lineage, too. One of the zoo’s Black-Footed Cats, Aza, gave birth to a litter of kittens on April 8, 2014, mere days after HBO premiered the fourth season of GoT. This may be what inspired a George R. R. Martin fan at the zoo to name the kittens Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion—after Daenerys’ three dragons, though hopefully without the growing pains.
The tiny Black-Footed Cats are found in southern Africa
SO FLUFFY DO YOU THINK THEY LIKE BELLY RUBS but this trio is the Philly Zoo’s first litter born at the zoo. They were kind enough to share some photos of the little ones, now about eight weeks old, getting their first check-ups:
There are TONS more photos at the link below! Here’s hoping the Philly Zoo will keep us updated on the feline Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion’s other firsts
BEFORE WE KIDNAP THEM.
