William Goldman had been working on a musical production of The Princess Bride several years back, but the project was shelved when a financial dispute hit the fan. Since then, it looked as though there was little chance of seeing the Dread Pirate Roberts and Buttercup on stage, but a new agreement with Disney has changed all that…

With the original show script scrapped, The Hollywood Reporter tells us that this new Princess Bride (as a play or a musical, though the latter is far more likely) will be making its way onto stage in the very near future. No dates are set, but it’s still nice to know that our hopes have not been in vain these past years!
