Riddick Trailer Premieres at Comic-Con, and Vin Diesel Promises Marvel News at the End of the Month!

Vin Diesel is at Comic-Con, talking about Dungeons & Dragons: “It’s a training ground for imagination,” he says. Siggghhh…

During the panel, a Pitch Black fan used the opportunity to tell Diesel that the film helped him overcome his fear of the dark, and Diesel replied, “I can tell a level of badass rising in you as you speak. I can tell with every syllable your badass-ness is rising.” He’s just so cool! Another asked what his vision was for the future of Marvel movies (we assume while winking theatrically) and Diesel replied that there “is some very big news coming at the end of this month.” So, exciting stuff in sunny San Diego!

And here we are, in 1000 degree heat, with no compensatory dragons anywhere in sight… Click through for a new, NSFW Riddick trailer!

Some more news for those who are curious:

According to Diesel, his love of D&D made his development process a lot like a table top gaming experience. His friends have actually accused him of trying to “DM Hollywood.” (Um, can we try this with the internet? It sounds like an awesome way to get things done.) Getting Riddick made was a matter of him going over ideas with director David Twohy in his own home and trying to one up each other.

For those excited to see Katee Sackhoff alongside Riddick, the talk at the panel made it seem like they’d be something of a team. She bragged about having the biggest guns in the movie and pointed out the parallels that run between her character, Dahl, and the goggled one. This makes sense, seeing as Riddick tends to tie himself to a female character in these films—looks like Sackhoff is it this time around.

As to what’s in store, Diesel teased that fans of the films can likely guess where the mythology will leave off. He made mention of the next film, which at least let’s us know that he’d like to do more of them even if they’re not in the cards yet…
