So we all know that the real tragedy of X-Men: First Class was watching the epic love between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnserr evaporate as their respective ideologies tore them apart. Luckily, the same was never true for actors Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, and now we can be sure of that—because Sir Ian has now been cast as the officiator of Stewart’s wedding to a jazz singer named Sunny Ozell.
Tissues, please. We’re already teary over here.
It would seem that McKellen will be picking up a $25 license from Massachusetts state to perform the ceremony, and that he might have a hard time holding back the tears himself; he admitted to bawling when he officiated the civil partnership of two friends some time ago. We’re just imagining a universe where Professor X and Magneto cast aside their differences and remained friends for the rest of their days. Our hearts, they are so full of love right now.
