We’ll admit it, the Internet is amazing. Stubby the Rocket was born on the Internet, and it’s a fantastic place to live. But, even Stubby the Rocket likes to travel back in time every once and awhile a write a good old fashion hand-written letter. And now, we’re being challenged to write A Month of Letters and we’d like to challenge you too!

Author Mary Robinette Kowal is writting 23 letters in the month of February (all the days mail can be delievered in the U.S.) and you should too! From her site:

I have a simple challenge for you.

1. In the month of February, mail one item through the post everyday that it runs. Write a postcard, a letter, send a picture, a cutting from a newspaper, or a fabric swatch.

2. Write back to everyone who writes you. This can count as one of your mailed items.

Write love letters thank yous, or simply notes to say you miss an old friend. Let yourself step away from the urgency of modern life and write for an audience of one. You might enjoy going to the mailbox again.

Doesn’t this sound like a great way to do something with all those Babylon 5/Creature from the Black Lagoon/Happy Days postcards you have lying around? Get writing and mailing!
