Benedict Cumberbatch to Star in Monty Python-Manned Film

This is a weird one, so bear with us. It looks like Benedict Cumberbatch has got a new project to add to his roster—and it’s a Monty Python film. Well, not exactly, but it will be directed and co-written by one Python member (Terry Jones) and will feature voiceovers by every living member of the old troupe, minus Eric Idle.

Titled Absolutely Anything, the movie is supposed to be about a teacher (Cumberbatch) who gains crazy magical powers when a crew of aliens (the Python crew) enter his life. Cue shenanigans. We’re totally serious, this is the actual plot of the film. It’s either genius or a terrible idea. And you know, the aliens will be animated, so that might prove to be a roadblock. We’re just going to have to wait and see on this one—but we won’t deny that we’re still pretty excited to see how it turns out.

Stubby the Rocket is the mascot. Stubby wants a Cumberbatch Signal so that Stubby may call on him from afar.
