Somewhere in Time Musical Set to Debut in Portland

A musical adaptation of the bittersweet time travel romance Somewhere in Time, itself based off of a time-bending romantic Richard Matheson novel Bid Time Return, has been confirmed for a spring 2013 premiere date at Portland Center Stage. Somewhere in Time will be directed by Scott Schwartz and choreographed by John Carrafa. Music is by Doug Katsaros with lyrics by Amanda Yesnowitz and book by Ken Davenport. No word on the cast yet.

Somewhere in Time/Bid Time Return’s story concerns a kind of predestination paradox of romantic proportions. A playwright becomes obsessed with a photograph of an actress of a bygone era, and soon travels back in time to meet her! The 1980 film starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in the leading roles.
