Reminder: Margaret Atwood at The Center For Fiction’s Big Read

The Big Read continues in a big way on Wednesday, October 12 as the Center for Fiction presents their keynote speaker; Margaret Atwood. In conjunction with the month long celebration of Ursula K. Le Guin and SFF at the Center for Fiction and also in honor of the release of Margaret Atwood’s In Other Worlds, the author will be speaking on the subjects which occupy her new book.

As demonstrated in her latest novel, The Year of the Flood (2009), Ms. Atwood has an uncanny knack for writing books that anticipate the preoccupations of her public. Ms. Atwood’s most recent collection, In Other Worlds: SF and The Human Imagination (2011), brings together her 2010 Ellmann Lectures with some of her key reviews and introductions, and explores what science fiction has meant to her both as a reader and as a writer.

This event will take place at 7 PM at the Gerlad W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College in Manhattan. (Click here for directions.) The event is also ticketed!  (Click here for tickets and more information)
