We’ve got a quick update for you in regards to the recently opened Decade’s Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movies Viewer’s Poll!

We’re still tremendously early on, but the Lord of the Rings trilogy has taken a healthy gallop away from the competition. One movie trilogy to rule them all, a marketing campaign to find them, a lot of hoopla to bring them all, and in the theater bind them!

The famed movie trilogy better keep an eye out for Batman and Harry Potter, as those two franchises pick up steam. (Well, keep an eye out for Harry Potter anyway. You never see Batman coming until you’re already unconscious.)

Some nice dark horses are emerging in a cluster of votes for Spirited Away and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, as well. Pixar movies dot the landscape.

It’s still very early in the game, so we’ll check back in tomorrow to suss out the shape of things. In the meantime, you can vote for your favorite movies of the past decade here.
