Reactor

You or may not have seen the above picture circulating around the internet this week. What you’re looking at is a supercell thunderstorm over Montana (appropriately famed for its “Big Sky”), the kind that birth scores of tornadoes.

Or you might be looking at a real world version of a highstorm from Brandon Sanderson’s The Way of Kings. The kind that strips a man free of his skin. (Illustrated here by Michael Whelan.)

The picture was captured by electrician Sean Heavey in July, west of Glasgow, Montana. The above photo itself is actually three separate ones stitched together and, as one might surmise, there’s a lot more where that came from!
