Endless Inspiration: “Endless Reflections”

It seems that there is no such thing as too much Sandman, ever. More than ten years after its final volume hit the comics stands, Neil Gaiman’s seminal tale of Morpheus, Dream of the Endless still inspires.

Appropriately enough, in celebration of the upcoming twentieth anniversary of the initial publication of Sandman, Nucleus Art Gallery in Alhambra California is holding an exhibit entitled ‘Endless Reflections’, which features artwork inspired by Dream and his siblings. The exhibit features some of the best comics artists working today, such as Bryan Talbot, Dave McKean, Marc Hempel, Rick Berry, Phil Hale, Shawn McManus, Shelley Wan, Ted McKeever, Mike Dringenberg, Jill Thompson (pictured above), and (my fave) Mike Allred. The exhibit runs through October, so if you’re in the area, check it out.

But travel is expensive, and hard times they are a comin’. So if you can’t make it to California, fear not: the entire catalogue is viewable online and is for sale (in case those hard times don’t apply to you) at Nucleus’ website.
