John Crowley Reads at the 92nd St. Y

For those of you in the New York City area, the 92nd Street Y Unterberg Poetry Center will be hosting what’s sure to be a spectacular reading by World Fantasy Award winner John Crowley and Pulitzer Prize winner Marilynn Robinson. The reading is next Thursday, September 25th. From the 92nd Street Y’s website:

“There are some people—and I’m one of them—for whom life consists only of passing time between novels by John Crowley,” wrote Michael Chabon. Crowley’s works of fiction include Little, Big; The Translator; Lord Byron’s Novel; The Solitudes (from The Aegypt Cycle); and Four Freedoms, which is forthcoming.

Marilynne Robinson’s words “have a spiritual force that’s very rare in contemporary fiction,” wrote James Wood. Her new novel, Home, returns to the setting of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Gilead. Her other books include Housekeeping and The Death of Adam, a collection of essays.

As always, the Poetry Center offers $10 tickets to anyone under the age of 35, available for purchase on the web.
