As Kat (Lyric Ross) says at the end of the first teaser for Wendell & Wild, everyone has demons. But her demons have names. And what’s more, her demons are voiced by none other than Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

Wendell & Wild, which arrives on Netflix next month, comes from the absolutely inspired pair of Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and Jordan Peele (NOPE), who co-wrote the screenplay (which is based on the book by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman). Selick, returning to gorgeous stop-motion more than 10 years after Coraline, directs the spooky story about a girl, her demons, and her hometown.

Netflix’s summary doesn’t give us much more—yet:

From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick (director of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline) and Jordan Peele (Nope, Us, Get Out) comes the story of Kat (Lyric Ross), a troubled teen haunted by her past, who must confront her personal demons, Wendell & Wild (played by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) to start a new life in her old hometown.

But Deadline has a few more details, describing a story about how “scheming demon brothers Wendell and Wild (Key and Peele) enlist the aid of Kat Elliot (Ross) — a tough teen with a load of guilt — to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a bizarre and comedic adventure-fantasy that defies the law of life and death.”

Also, Angela Bassett voices the demon-slaying Sister Helley (surely her name isn’t at all suggestive) and Ving Rhames voices Buffalo Belzer, whose giant horns you see there at the end. There’s a lot to look forward to here—and you only have to wait until October 28th for the film to debut on Netflix.
