My first read through of the series was via the Audible books and I enjoyed his narration, although it took a bit to get used. Especially his Brienne. That one is somewhat over top. However I loved his Tyrion and that forever became Tyrions voice to me. It was somewhat jarring when I got a different voice actor for FFC and Brienne had a new voice.

What I found most distracting is that he pauses in weird places (mid-phrase) so often. The voices are great, but for me the delivery has big problems. I got used to it and AFFC sounded weird with that other guy who pronounces a lot of things differently, but the pauses are still the big thing that sticks out to me when I think about those audiobooks.

A great concept here. I really like it. However...who's Richard Baratheon? I know a Robert Baratheon, who said, "Wear it in silence, or I'll honor you again." But a don't recall a Richard.

I'm currently 80% through "A Dance With Dragons." I adapted pretty well to John Lee replacing Dotrice for AFFC. Actually having more trauma with continuity problems between Dotrice's voices in the first 3 books and in ADWD, and internal consistency within the latest book. He'll switch voices for a character within a few paragraphs, or continue a character voice into the narration. Its probably due to poor or lacking direction- someone should be riding herd on continuity issues, just like in a movie. Its the aural equivalent of a character wearing a watch on his right wrist in one scene, no watch in another, and a different watch on the left wrist in a third. Still think Dotice has a great voice, and his Tyrion is an all-time classic.
