One Page Wonders: Captain A-OK Fights Blug-Glub-Glub

By idiots books

Idiots’Books and Tor.com are happy to bring you One Page Wonders, an exciting new way of hiding a dozen different stories—all of which can be unlocked with a pair of scissors and a few deft folds—in a single sheet of paper. This week’s installment is called “Captain A-OK Fights Blug-Glub-Glub.” To figure out how to create these tiny books, please follow the instructions below.

1. Download the instruction sheet, which will look something like this.

Print it out if you think it will be helpful.

2. Download and print out the story PDF, which will look a little bit like this.

Make sure you tell the printer to print at actual size rather than shrinking or centering the image. A color printer would certainly be preferable if you have access to one, but black and white will do if you don’t.

3. You can assemble and read the story based just on these two items, but if you’d like a bit of a helping hand, the following video will do splendidly.

4. Read it a million times and enjoy it every one.

More One Page Wonders can be found at the collection page.

at first I was a little confused, but the more I read, the more I realized. Quite fun how it twists so many different stories out of 8 phrases and pictures.

Personally i'd rather do the pix by hand.

How come you aren't on Wikipedia?

I've blogged this already, about to find out how to tweet it on Twitter (if that is the correct terminology, lol (who me? middle-aged and backward?)), not that anyone will know what i do on Twitter.

Can't say much more about it in a blogpost than the wow. Except i'm determined to work out a multiway story.

Reads a bit like Consequences, or whatever name you know for that game.

Ooh! New idea! Rhyming narrative one-pagers!

Gaaah!! I keep getting a "drawing error" in Acrobat, preventing printing and frustrating me to no end!!

I printed the page and did the folding and cutting, but the drawings didn't line up. Then I noticed there was more white space at one end of the paper than the other end. Aligning the surrounding text gave a better presentation than aligning on the paper edges.

What fun.

I would have liked to see the video, but the link seems to be gone, when I viewed the page. This is going to be very interesting to try out. I've never seen it before.

Impressive. I could see this used as an enrichment activity in an elementary school classroom.

This is awesome...
I have a soft spot for people making art out of a single sheet of paper. A couple of weeks ago I was at the Venice Biennale and there was this exhibition by a Cuban artist, whose name I totally.
