Shaun Tan on an animated version of The Lost Thing

Irene Gallo

The best news I heard all day?  Shaun Tan (of The Arrival) is working on an animated version of his book The Lost Thing, due for release in late 2009. Check out this five minute documentary on the adaptation:

We in the States are impatiently waiting for his next book, Tales from Outer Suburbia. To our Canadian and Australian friends, I am green with envy. If you’ve snagged a copy, let us know what you think.

When I saw the title of this post my heart skipped a beat-which made me realize just how much I love Shaun Tan's work.

Tales from outer Suburbia is phenomenal!I just finished it last night, I love it and think it's one of his best works. It's diverse in it's artistic approaches and the themes and stories are great. Buy it as soon as you can or sooner.
(PS-one of the stories is called "Eric" if i needed convincing this is an awesome book)

I directed the film on Shaun and I was just checking out where all the hits came from:-)

Shaun was awesome to work with - the 'real deal' an amazing artist. I saw quite a bit of work in progress for The Lost Thing film in the process and it will be quite groundbreaking when it's completed!
