It seems to be their year. They also won a Life Time Achievement award for their children's book work from the Society of Illustrator's "Original Art Show."

The real surprise I have is Tiny Deaths. It's a good, fun collection to read but I just can't believe it beat both Lucius Shepard and Ellen Klages (my pick) here. It wasn't that good.
The one winner I have a problem with is "Singing of Mount Abora". Daniel Abraham's story was head and shoulders above the pack with Kij Johnson a strong second. I don't get this one.

That's what's so cool about award lists like this, I get exposed to all sorts of stuff I never would have and someone of it I really like. I'm ready to find more from some of these authors, and others, I realize are just not to my taste.
You don't like horror fiction and I do like some of that cross-genre. You adored the Goss story and I could have done without it. I read it twice. It didn't get any better for me.
