Around the Web: Tiny Ninja Theater, Avengers news, and a free streaming RiffTrax!

Torie Atkinson

Tiny Ninja Theater presents Romeo & Juliet - “‘I had noticed that there were these tiny plastic ninjas in vending machines all across the city,’ says Weinstein, ‘but no one was using them to perform classical theater. Something had to be done.’” Dov Weinstein is my favorite one-man performer. I’ve seen this and Hamlet, and both were wonderful. More details on our events calendar. I would be remiss in my duties if I did not also inform you that nestled within the ninjaed folds of that website is the Tiny Ninja Production Studio. Just don’t blame me when you’ve spent hours creating the perfect tableau.

Samuel L. Jackson may not play Nick Fury - The dispute? Money, what else!

RiffTrax goes live with first streaming show - MST3K alums Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett are taking RiffTrax live with a free streaming track! They’ll be riffing the classic short “Self Conscious Guy” tomorrow night, 9pm EST. Via Wired.

A matter of National Security - “The San Francisco International Airport is hosting a show entitled Out of this World! The Twentieth-Century Space Invasion of American Pop Culture, a collection of over 300 vintage space themed toys dating from the 1930s to the 1980s.”

Growing Up Star Wars - Wil Wheaton has done a thoughtful Best Of for the Flickr group Growing Up Star Wars. Some of the photos are just precious.

Ultra-Minimalism - 19 cool products that are almost impossible to use.

I like Sam Jackson just fine, but really the guy needs to take a little sabbatical. He's in everything, it seems. Having him in a film is starting to turn me off to the movies he's in. Basically, he plays himself. Now that's a pretty cool character, I admit, but I could probably only handle this much of him if he had a broader range.
