About Toy Story 3, I'd be pretty cautious if "The Lion King" and "Finding Nemo" were too much. Remember in TS1, with Sid mixing toys and "torturing" them? TS3 has, first, a "ganster" setup which might kinda go over his head, although that was what freaked Becca out - the cruelty of the toys to one another. The "dark stuff" Longtimefan mentioned is an extended sequence near the end where they all get dumped in a landfill and are headed for a) shredding AND b) burning, and it takes a long time, multiple near escapes and finally something almost out-of-the-blue to rescue them just before they slide down (all holding hands) into the furnace. I don't think it would be quite so scary if it weren't so drawn-out, and also so clearly irrevocable. So... I don't know. The darkness of the ending may be lost on kids who haven't learned "fear of hell" yet, but... I'd say watch him carefully and be prepared to leave early, anyway.
