Dear Irene, I am surprised that there is no blog entry by anyone about The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan being nominated for an Academy Award, movies and TV are discussed quite a bit here, and it would seem that a small mention would be appropriate. Thank you for the opportunity to tell you this. Sincerely, jskanderson

Hi Irene, I was contemplating your request on the ToM spoiler board regarding which scene to have for the ebook cover art. The general consensus seems to be the hammer forging by Perrin, which I'm fully in support of because it certainly seems to give the most vivid imagery. A nice blend of the majestic & sheer wonder. However, I'd suggest giving a thought to the end of chapter 13, namely Rand's make-up with Tam. As a real guy's guy that scene is simply powerful to me because I cannot read it without my eyes misting up, and it is the only scene within all of WoT that has pulled that kind of emotional response from me. It would surely be a difficult scene to fully convey rand's overwhelming sense of shame and remorse, but there's just something beautiful about the most powerful man in the world return as the wayward son, little more than a boy filled with tears, and seeking his father's forgiveness, acceptance, & love. That's a scene many a person can relate to, and it strikes as being the most important underlying theme within this book. Sorry for the essay. Just my two cents.

Hi Irene, While I love all of the suggestions for the ebook cover so far, I haven't yet seen Perrin cradling Hopper, pinned through by Slayer's arrow... pretty dark and fitting for such a dark titled book. Otherwise, for something different, how about Fortuona in full regalia watching Elaida (Suffa)give up travelling.. that fits the title too.

Hello Irene. Since Mat and the Tower of Ghenjei are on the hardback cover, something not related to that should be on the ebook cover. I suggest Perrin forging Mah'alleinir, with Neald channeling the Power into the new hammer.

Hey Irene Wondering if there is an update on fixing the Hugo wallpaper downloads for both John Picacio and Shaun Tan. Shaun Tan's webpage still loads, but John's is now giving a 404 error.

Irene, Not sure if you can help with this, but there are a lot of folks complaining that they can't buy the prologue from outside the US/Canada. Could you post something on the "now available" thread to explain to them either why you can't do anything about it, or what they can do? Or something? The whining is getting on my nerves. :)

Irene - I am unable to download many of the wallpaper that were made available for the Hugo nominees. Is there anyway to get the John Picacio and Shaun Tan wallapers? Thanks!

Irene - There is a problem with the links for the new e-book covers for the WOT. When you click the link for Knife of Dreams it links to Crossroads of Twilight. I know that you are not likely responsible for this but I thought you could pass it on to whomever should be aware of the problem.

The WOT e-book art has been phenomenal! Since the only main character we have not yet seen on a cover is Egwene might we hope to see her in the midst of the Battle of the White Tower on the cover of The Gathering Storm? Please?!?

I've been a big fan of your work for a while and didn't even know about it! But I'm wising up, finally :) Just wanted to say hi, and thank you for a job well done! Tor has always published my favorite books, and now that I'm creeping out of school life and into the professional illustration world, it seemed only right to at least give a greeting.

Hi Irene, a big fan through Spectrum and your wonderful Blog. Just thought i'd say Hi, and was wondering if you will be attending SDCC 2010 ? If you are I will be showcasing in Artists Alley and would love if you could stop by. That would be awesome indeed.:) I also have a small gallery here and would love if you could have a view ? I would love to do some cover illustration if my style is suitable ? Have a great day :) Tariq

Irene, Thanks for your efforts in the WOT e-book artwork. Fantastic so far I have a couple requests for upcoming titles. Winter's Heart: The alley scene with Rand and Rochaid. Specifically, the moment when Rand grabs Rochaid's sword hilt and Rochaid's facial expression goes from cocky to suprised. I have found that scene to be one of a handful that are etched in my mind's eye. For Crossroads of Twilight I would suggest a beautiful panaoramic scene of Egwene stepping into a small boat with the White tower in the background. For Knife of Dreams, I can think of no more beautiful scene than that of Nynaeave with the Gem dealer after she deposits Lan far in the West. For the Gathering Storm; Verin. Either Verin with Mat, or Verin with Egwene. Either scene, but Verin. Thanks for your consideration! and keep up the Great work
