I work in computing/higher ed, and occasionally write & edit standardized tests; I also speak French and Chinese as the result of a misspent youth. Recently finished a complete re-read of WoT (I had never read KoD before -- I was really impressed!) I grew up reading Heinlein from around age 7 (when my Dad got frustrated that I went through kids' books so fast) and David Eddings (thanks to the corrupting influences of my friends) and watching TNG and Jeopardy at the kitchen table.
