Watch the Jam-Packed Teaser Trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1

watch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 teaser trailer President Coin Julianne Moore Katniss Everdeen Jennifer Lawrence Philip Seymour Hoffman Plutarch Heavensbee Liam Hemsworth Gale Hawthorne

The Mockingjay, Part 1 trailer that Hunger Games fans got to see during San Diego Comic-Con is now online! Though it’s three quick scenes in the space of a minute, it’s filled with arresting visuals, like this Mockingjay crop circle that President Snow orders eradicated.

Aside from the emotions that Philip Seymour Hoffman’s presence brings, it’s very fitting that our first glimpse of the movie has Plutarch Heavensbee advocating for Katniss, when so much of the Catching Fire promotion showed him subtly playing President Snow and setting Katniss up as the Mockingjay. It’s also our first look at Julianne Moore’s quietly crazy-eyed President Coin, who looks and sounds like the kind of leader you do not mess around with.

In contrast to their surety—Plutarch that she’ll rise, Coin that she’ll fail—Katniss is looking surprisingly shaky as she walks through District 13. More encouragement that the franchise will continue to delve into Katniss’ PTSD the way they did in Catching Fire. But even as Katniss trembles, it ends on an uplifting note:

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 comes out November 21, 2014.

Any word on where the movie cuts from the book? After the Nut breaks seems like the perfect time, but it does end on a mixed note.

If it was me, I'd cut it with Peeta's return and attempt on her life.

I read the Hunger Games but didn't finish the first movie... all too often these days, to me, I have trouble continuing with these books adapted to screen because these movies based on the books come out before the books get a chance to 'grow'...

Never did read a Harry Potter book, the movie I did not like...
