Check out Mark Matcho’s cover art for books 1 and 2 of Steven S. Drachman’s The Memoirs of Watt O’Hugh! The second book in the series, Watt O’Hugh Underground, will be released for the first time on May 20th from Chickadee Prince Press, along with a reissue of his debut, The Ghosts of Watt O’Hugh.
Here’s what Mark had to say about the covers:
“The Watt O’Hugh series cover art was inspired by pulp and adventure magazine covers from the ’30s and ’40s, and the work of artists like Norman Saunders and Rafael DeSoto, who brought those covers to life. Steven Drachman, the author of this series, has a gift for fast-paced, energetic storytelling, and I wanted the composition and art to reflect the dynamic nature of his writing, as well as provide a nod to the past, given the historical/fantasy nature of the books.”
