Psyched. I thought I'd read every one of his books and don't remember ever hearing this one somehow. Can't wait to read it to my one year old.

Why do I not remember THE WITCHES? I suspect because my elementary school's faculty conspired to present only certain of Roald Dahl's works to me and my classmates. I would have enjoyed THE WITCHES as a kid and would love to read it now. Thanks for the opportunity!

As a kid (as now) I loved books about magical protagonists, so having the witches be, y'know, wicked...it was a disappointment. It was still a fairly fun elementary school read, and definitely something I'd share with the nephew!

Dahl-icious! Of course, there are some who say Roald was a 'sonofawitch' in real life...

I've never read it!! I spent most of my childhood reading every Archie comic book in existence, so I'm catching up for lost time!

3 comments last night, with the contest ending at midnight tonight. Hop on today, 39 comments, bumped to the top of the page and the timeline for the entry has changed? How is that okay? You even moved the OPENING time from the 23rd so the first three posts which WERE valid now aren't? That hardly seems fair.

So, RE-COMMENTING as you changed the rules.

WOW!!! I NEED THIS BOOK! It was the first book I ever checked out from my library as a kid, the first chapter book I ever finished as a kid and Roald Dahl's work in general is one of the main reasons I became a librarian! Long Live The Witches!!!
