Five Years of Stories Free Download Extended!

Download Five Years of Stories on Tor.comTo celebrate our fifth birthday, Tor.com assembled the last five years of our award-winning original fiction into downloadable ebook files!

This ebook is free to Tor.com’s registered users to download, as a thank you for joining and contributing to our community over the years. We’ll be taking it down by Thursday, August 1st So many folks are still discovering and downloading the anthology that we’re going to keep the offer going for another week! We are overjoyed at this response to Tor.com’s original fiction. Come back every Wednesday (and then some!) to see new fiction, new art, and new authors featured. New stories always appear at the very top of the site and are collected in our Prose index.

What exactly is contained within these near-4000 pages of fiction? Check out the table of contents below!

Download The Stories: Five Years of Original Fiction on Tor.com

Note: If you’re getting an “invalid token” response or other hiccup from the download page, try logging in through the Tor.com home page first, then accessing the download page.

Note #2: These files are massive—the largest is over 500 MB—and full of images. We’ve attempted to compress them since originally releasing them but haven’t been able to come up with files that are reliably clean, and we’d rather present the stories as they are meant to be seen.

However! The comment thread in the original announcement has some tips from our community regarding compressing the files to manageable sizes.

This is great, thanks. Going to play havoc with my goodread's 2013 reading challenge though. I've set myself a challenge to read 50 books this year. And this will still only count as one, even with it's thousands and thousands of pages. Not complaining though.

Great stuff.

I was able to download the mobi file, but my e-mail server doesn't handle files this big. :(
I tried downloading the PDF file next, but that wouldn't work, either.
Finally tried hardwiring it. Ah! Sweet success. :)

#68. The Starship Mechanic, by Jay Lake and Ken Scholes, seems to be missing from my copy. Has anyone else encountered this?

@lbrice That's funny. My original copy had 2 of those (no joke) and I was missing #66. I just re-downloaded it and everything's there that I know of. You'll find Starship Mechanic under #111.
