Watch the Teaser For the Ender’s Game Movie Trailer

Ender's Game trailer teaser

The first full trailer for the Ender’s Game movie hits the internet next Tuesday, May 7th. (We’ve seen it. WE HAVE OPINIONS.) But you can get a glimpse of it now, courtesy of Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford.

The Google Hangout that Harrison Ford mentions is right here, so keep an eye on it come May 7th. We’ll be posting it here, as well, if you’re allergic to Google Plus!

Here are some stills from the teaser, featuring a very zero-G Ender:

I honestly don't remember Rackham as being Maori. I think the story works better with younger kids, but I completely understand why they aged them up. Here's hoping Gavin Hood doesn't pull a X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Also, how did TOR get lucky enough to score a peek at the trailer already?

Yep, he was Maori. I like the tease so far, can't wait until Tuesday. Like everyone, I hope they don't screw it up.

I'm iffy about putting Rackham in the teaser OR the trailer. I felt that him being alive was a huuuuge twist in the book, so I don't know why they would show it now.

I sincerely hope the acting in the movie isn't as monotone as the intro. Wow.

#4: Harrison Ford's not himself until he's playing someone else. It's just how he is.

I don't remember him being a bloke from India with makeup on.

Looking forward to this movie since it is one of my favorite books. I just reread it last week for the first ime in about 10 years. I have had kids since the last time I read it and that definitely changed how I feel about Ender being so young in the book. It seems more realistic/plausible to age him 5 or 6 more years for the movie to me. That brief glimpse of the battle room looked promising.

Honestly, having Ben Kingsley as Rackham is one part I'm skeptical about. But the book mentions him as being only half Maori so I suppose that provides wriggle room.

In other news, if you look closely at the kid in the battle room hopping between stars, he was definitely pulling a line behind him. First shot of Bean perhaps?

Looks really exciting! I should not be as thrilled, since I'm hoping my expectations don't cause problems when the film actually comes out.

SIR Ben Kingsley is superb in almost* everything he does. Him being Rackham is going to kick everyone's arses.

*looking at you Thunderbirds....

Why does Hollywood keep casting white actors to play explicitly non-white roles? I am sure there is an actual Maori actor they could have found to play the role. They really need to diversify the casting of these movies. C'mon Hollywood, stretch a bit more!

@11 - you know that ben kingsley is half-indian, right? that he won an oscar for playing mahatma "ghandi" ? sure, there are plenty of excellent maori actors. we've seen them in many films like "star wars" and "the matrix" series. but ben kingsley certified excellence with a huge name.
