Look at Cumberbatch’s Star Trek Into Darkness Ship in Insane Detail

Star Trek Into Darkness Spock Cumberbatch clip

Paramount has released a new clip from Star Trek Into Darkness, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch’s character detailing how he would single out Spock and take him down.

They’ve also released a huge, detailed image of Benedict Cumberbatch’s ship, which was teased in the last trailer. And it’s the weirdest-looking Federation starship we’ve yet seen.

Here’s the new clip:

And here’s Cumberbatch’s ship, the massive yes-this-is-really-its-name, U.S.S. Vengeance.

U.S.S. Vengeance form Star Trek Into Darkness

There’s a hole where its bridge is supposed to be! Also it’s block and bumpy and weird. CUMBERBATCH WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Stubby the Rocket is the mascot of It’s okay, Vengeance, Stubby had a phase where it put holes everywhere, too.

That is a bloody awesome ship. If all the federation ships looked like that, then they might not be the laughing stock of the galaxy.

They still would be crying when the Mirak unleash a flurry of Missiles. purrrrr.

Weird, the body of that ship-- not the saucer, the part the nacelles are on, the "battle bridge" part-- looks sort of like a Firefly class freighter to me.

Maybe the plot is just Cumberbatch still made about that show being cancelled? Hundreds of years from now, the Browncoats still rage?

I'm starting to think the plot is Benedict Cumberbatch standing on a windy structure, battle scarred bridge, or stark prison scene and monologuing for two hours while the crew reacts.

I'd watch it, as long as Spock got fifteen minutes of screen time to reply.

#4: Well, to be fair, Browncoats are this generation's TOS Trekkies -- holding on dearly to a show that they vociferously claim was cancelled unfairly and before its time, carrying on a SF fandom that they often proclaim to be superior to others...

SPOILER ----- Ummm yeah, hate to break it to you guys, but that ain't Cumberbatch's ship in the film. You're making that assumption, and you're wrong. I won't tell you who it belongs to, because I don't want to ruin it for people, but it's not some super big twist. You'll see it coming, but it is pretty cool. Okay, now I'll spoil it...

It's actually Robocop's ship. And I'm not joking, from a certain point of view.

So, if certain spoilery reviews of the film are correct, that ship is, literally, Gur Iratrnapr bs Xuna. Hmmm....
