Maybe it's just me, but I was always WAY more frightened of Piper Laurie as Margaret White. And simultaneously enthralled by her... dirty pillows. As much as I loved Cissy Spaceck in the title role, I hope they have cast her mother properly. I'm sure I could look it up, and I probably will... later... sometime.

Edit: I can't believe I got Ms. White's first name wrong. Fail.

I vote that, starting with this movie, they turn every single Stephen King story into a movie (even if that means a remake).

That sums up my reaction, too. I recently rewatched the original, and while I think it holds up well, I'm curious now to see how this story will translate to the present day (assuming they've gone that route with the script).
