Farewell, Steampunk Week

Goodbye to Tor.com’s 2012 Steampunk Week

All too soon, good things must come to an end.

This week has always been a highlight of my Tor.com bloggery, and this year did not disappoint. So, here comes the Big Appreciation Post to everyone who helped make this happen!

Thanks go out to:

Our contributors Kevin J. Anderson, Yomi Ayeni, Julie Brannon, Professor Calamity, Professor Elemental, Faith Erin Hicks, Lisa Hager, Margaret “Magpie” Killjoy, Arthur Morgan, Tee Morris, Balogun Ojetade, Cat Rambo, Paul Shapera, Ann Vandermeer, and Diana Vick. Extra kudos to Tee for jumping in during the midnight hour as a last-minute replacement.

Plus, cheers to Jacob Clifton for his fantastic story “The Commonplace Book.”

And our vendors who contributed the awesome free stuff for our sweepstakes: Harlequin Books, Orbit Books, Signet, Sensorium Editions, Nonstop Press, Tachyon Publications, First Second Books, Audiobook, Rocklove Jewelry, James Ng, and Atomic Overmind Press.

My gratitude also goes to my fellow Tor.com crewmates on the H.M.S. Stubbington, especially Bridget McGovern, Chris Lough, and Emily Asher-Perrin as well as Liz Gorinsky and Irene Gallo for keeping me onboard for another successful year.

Most of all, thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the readers for your feedback, and keep those comments coming on these posts.

In the meantime, see you around the aethernetz!

Ay-leen the Peacemaker hopes to meet fellow Tor.com readers at Octopodicon this weekend, where she will be forming a sekrit cabal to plot ideas for next year's Steampunk Week. In the meantime, she’s the editor of Beyond Victoriana, the oldest-running blog on multicultural steampunk and an academic scholar on steampunk (among other things). She also tweets.
