McKayla is Not Impressed With Science Fiction. Dislikes Actual Science. Also Magic.

Aside from everything Bobak-related, the most popular Internet meme this week is surely the mckayla is not impressed Tumblr. Nothing, whether it’s the Tupac hologram or Ryan Gosling seems to impress McKayla! (Some backstory: U.S. Olympics gymnast McKayla Maroney finished with the silver during her competition this previous Sunday after falling during a landing. Cameras caught this momentary annoyance on her face and the internet took it from there.)

I feel bad for that kid. Could be a worse meme, but still - must be hard to have that kind of exposure at her age.

It's a bit rough. I'm certain that she's tough enough to bear it, and to realize that it isn't really meant against her. Timing is everything, and her expression was waiting to be used at a time when it would be used.

MatthewB- hard to have that kind of exposure? She's an Olympic Athlete who just won a silver medal for herself and a gold medal for her team; she has many followers on her Instagram and Twitter accounts (where she said the meme was funny, or in her words, "OMG LOL"), and lastly, she's a 16 year old girl in 2012; I don't think she's adverse to fame - any kind of fame. I bet she enjoys every minute of it.

Well, if this is any indication (and I think it is), it seems like she has a good sense of humor about the whole thing...

Yes, she does appear to be handling it well. I suspect she'd stilll rather have had the gold medal and no meme, but maybe in the long run this will be better.
