A contributor to the golden age of comics, specifically working on Hawkman, TarzanFax from Sarajevo, and moreKubert was also known for his extensive work as a teacher, founding the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art in 1976.

Steve Leiber has a wonderful and touching rememberance, here.

NB: You have a typo there: his sons Adam and Andy, not Adam and Any.

I'm really sad to hear of his passing. He was one of the greats, with strong, good art throughout his career. He really retained his abilities, right up till now. I first noticed him on the cover of All-Star Squardron #2. It really popped and grabbed my attention. He will be greatly missed.
