Emma Peel (Dame Diana Rigg) to Guest Star on Doctor Who

The star of the real Avengers and the only woman to marry James Bond; Dame Diana Rigg is set to guest star on an episode of Doctor Who next season alongside her daughter Rachael Stirling. The episode will be written by fan favorite and Sherlock scribe/actor Mark Gatiss.

From the BBC’s website:  Steven Moffat, executive producer and head writer on Doctor Who, said: “Dame Diana Rigg, Rachael Stirling and a Mark Gatiss script - a combination of talents you could only get in Doctor Who! Frankly, I’m terrified already!"

No word yet if a time-traveling John Steed will feature.

Oh yum. It almost makes up for the tragic fact that Diana Rigg was never cast as The Doctor.

No joke. She would have been a great Doctor.

Bam@1: That would truly have been awesome. I have had a crush on Diana Rigg for ... well, too damn many years, is all. Still do, actually.
