Sci-Fi Actors Wearing Steampunk Clothes Designed By Prada

High end fashion line Prada has just unveiled photos and video of actors Willem “Green Goblin” Dafoe, Gary “Commissioner Sirius Black” Oldman, Garrett “Sam Flynn” Hedlund, and Jamie “TinTin Billy Elliot” Bell wearing their heavily steampunk-influenced fall/winter menswear line. This is a real sentence we just typed describing a real thing.

Prada describes the photo campaign by David Sims as “a subtle parody of power and role-play” and goes on to describe the steampunk-clothed actors as players in a game where every precise movement and mannerism is studied.

Click below for more photos of the actors modeling the line, along with a behind the scenes video of the photo shoot. Willem Dafoe is serving up some high-powered glower, so anyone with a heart condition should probably step back.

You can see more photos from the shoot at Prada’s site. Check out the behind-the-scenes video below for more of the actors hanging about in their steampunk duds. Somehow, watching Willem Dafoe psych himself up for his evil glare is even scarier than his actual glare...

Seriously, Willem Dafoe is probably the last thing we’re going to see before we die.

Stubby the Rocket is the Tor.com mascot. Stubby is ditching the crew picking these four fine gentlemen up for an adventure.

Oldman looks like he's about to lead the Russian revolution. (These are all awesome)

Heh, I love Willem Dafoe. I think my favorite Willem Dafoe moment is from Boondock Saints. "That's who the **** I am!"

Hehehe. Lisamarie, Dafoe as Klaus in The Life Aquatic is one of the office's many patron saints. "I didn't just LIKE it!"

These are quite amazing photos - Gary Oldman has them all beat in the sexy glaring stakes.

Pity the women's line still looks like a psychedelic 70s carpet...

When I first saw these I couldn't help thinking that Hedlund and Bell look
like Fascist prigs, and I've an urge to throttle them. Though Dafoe and Oldman are quite dapper.

And the women's collection look like Carnaby zombies. ick.

Oldman. Owns. This. Look.

Then again, he owns any look he's given, from Sid Vicious to Lee Harvey Oswald, the psycho DEA agent in Leon the Professional to Zorg in The Fifth Element. Was glad he finally got to play a good guy in the Batman franchise.

Clothes do, indeed, make the man. These men just happen to have a head start. :)

Oldman looks like he just built a railroad. And then went out and bought a couple more.

Huh. I thought you meant *real* scifi actors. You know, people one can recognize as being part of actual scifi series.

The men are very cool in a league of extraordinary gentlemen way and the women all look like Austin Powers meets the Walking Dead(Fashion Dies Too). Why since Twiggy do women in fashion always have to look like emaciated heroine addicts? Real women have curves.

These shots are awesome. The four actors can pull this look off with perfection, not sure of normal people. LOL.

Best Dafoe SF moment for me is his cameo in eXistenZ...

@5, et al - Maybe we'll see some women buy/re-tailor the men's line.

These looks great ... on them. Wonder how the look will translate down to something I can afford for my husband at Dillards and such.

Jamie Bell is so off, he looks like a mesenger boy. All the other gentlemen are superb.
