I read the book so long ago, and it is such a classic. That tote bag would be a good conversation-starter on a bus, plane, or in the station. Maybe it might spur someone else to read it, or any other book!

OMG This is exactly what I need! I've been obsessed with Madeleine L'Engle since I read A Wrinkle in Time in first grade (I was way ahead and that book made me love reading!). I have almost every book she's ever written (still don't have Ilsa - too expensive!). This would be an excellent compliment to my collection!

66. Collenen Holt
My very favorite book as a young girl, bar none. Read a lot more of L'Engle's adult stuff later. This was one of my go-to suggestions for folks looking for something good for their kids when I worked at Borders. Saw a stage adaptation last year at Roundhouse Theatre in Bethesda, MD that did a pretty darn good job. Would tote the tote proudly. Thanks!

Please!

The graphics are the same as my copy, which I ordered in 4th grade from Scholastic many many years ago...

Now that book is too fragile for my own kids to read, so last week I picked up a hardcover version from the library. Maybe it's a sign...

Also try Newbery winner When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead -- the main character references A Wrinkle in Time and some of the characters even argue about the time travel in it. It's a great read.

Do want! I tried to read as many of her books as I could get my hands on growing up. The reread of her books is making me nostalgic.

"It was a dark and stormy night..." HAHAHAHA I adored L'Engle's books. I remember reading the whole series at least twice over summer vacation as a kid and still pull it out every now and then to read as an adult. Whenever someone makes the joke of "It was a dark and stormy night..." I don't think of the book that made that line a joke, I think of A Wrinkle in Time and hours and hours of reading pleasure which began that way.

I loved reading that you all enjoyed it too.
